Shanghai, Wuxi, Nanxun and Hangzhou 6 Days 5 Nights with Airfare and West Lake

0
  • Duration: 6 Days 5 Nights
  • Cities: Shanghai, Wuxi, Nanxun and Hangzhou
  • Airline: JuneYao Airlines, direct Manila to Shanghai
  • Includes: compulsory shopping stops, see below

Detail

USD 359 per person with round trip airfare, five nights across four cities, a private coach and an English speaking guide. Like our other JuneYao packages the price is low because the itinerary carries compulsory shopping stops, and those are listed plainly further down.

The name comes from Nianhua Bay at Wuxi, a Tang dynasty style resort town that people call the Mini Kyoto of China. You see it lit up at night, which is when it is worth seeing. Nanxun is a genuine old canal town and the boat ride through it is included. Hangzhou gives you West Lake, and the Meijiawu Tea Garden the next morning comes with a Hanfu costume experience.

Day 5 is free, with Shanghai Disneyland or the Jinmao Tower as paid options.

Price Includes

  • Round trip economy airfare and tax with JuneYao Airlines from Manila
  • Baggage allowance of 1 piece 23kg checked and 1 piece 5kg carry on
  • 5 nights in 4 star hotels in Shanghai, Wuxi and Hangzhou, twin sharing, with daily breakfast
  • Private coach with an English speaking guide
  • All sightseeing listed in the itinerary including first entrance fees, and the Nanxun boat ride
  • Meals as listed

Price Excludes

  • Fuel surcharge USD 30 per person
  • Tips for the driver and guide USD 25 per person
  • Philippine travel tax, paid directly at the airport
  • China group visa USD 40 per person
  • Single supplement USD 120 per person
  • All optional tours
  • Travel insurance
  • Personal expenses

What You Also Pay

The rate above covers what is listed under Price Includes. These are the costs that land on top of it. We would rather you saw the real number now than found it later.

  • This itinerary includes COMPULSORY shopping stops. There are four: a latex shop, a pearl exhibition centre, a jade shop and a tea garden stop. The supplier applies a penalty if a traveller does not visit them. You never have to buy anything, but you are expected to go in and spend the time there. This is how the price with airfare stays this low.
  • Fuel surcharge of USD 30 per person, subject to change up to departure.
  • Tips for your driver and guide, USD 25 per person, worked out as USD 5 a day over five days. Collected with your tour fee.
  • China group visa, USD 40 per person. Because it is a group visa the whole party travels on it together, and on your free day you cannot join a tour run by another operator. That is a visa condition, not our rule.
  • Philippine travel tax, paid by you directly at the airport rather than collected with the tour fee.
  • Single supplement of USD 120 if you are travelling alone and do not want to share.
  • Optional tours on Day 5, both per person and both needing a minimum of 10 travellers: Shanghai Disneyland USD 120, or the Jinmao Tower 88th floor with Xintiandi, Shikumen and the Taobao underground market USD 60.
  • Dinner on most days, plus anything personal.

FAQ

What does compulsory shopping actually mean?

Four stops are built into the itinerary: a latex shop, a pearl exhibition centre, a jade shop and a tea garden. The coach takes you, you go in, and you spend the allotted time. You do not have to buy anything. The supplier applies a penalty if a traveller refuses to go in at all, which is why we call it compulsory. It is also why a six day trip with flights costs this little.

Why is it called Mini Kyoto?

Because of Nianhua Bay at Wuxi, a Tang dynasty style resort town built around a lake, with wooden architecture that reminds people of Kyoto. You visit it at night, lit up, which is when it looks best.

Is airfare included?

Yes. Round trip Manila to Shanghai Pudong direct with JuneYao Airlines, with one 23kg checked bag and a 5kg carry on. The carry on allowance is smaller than most airlines, so pack accordingly.

Do I need a visa for China?

Yes, a China group visa at USD 40 per person. Because the whole group travels on one visa you cannot join a different operator on the free day, and you cannot arrive early or stay on afterwards.

Which dates cost more?

Oct 16 and Oct 20 are peak departures at USD 399 per person instead of USD 359. They are shown separately on the booking calendar so you can see the difference before you pick.

What are the child rates?

USD 459 for a child aged 11 to 18 with a bed on normal dates, USD 399 for a child aged 2 to 10 without a bed, and around USD 199 for an infant, which covers airfare only. Note the 11 to 18 rate is higher than the adult rate. That is what the supplier quotes and we are confirming it, so ask us before booking for a family.

What if I am travelling alone?

The rate is per person on twin sharing. A room to yourself carries a single supplement of USD 120.
