Wangxian Valley in Jiangxi is the one people book it for. Guesthouses built into a cliff face, lit up after dark so the whole rock wall glows. Before that you get Shenxianju and the Ruyi Bridge, a curved walkway suspended in a gorge, with aerial photography included. Hengdian is China’s film and television base, where the Qin Palace set comes with a 5D stunt car ride.
It finishes in the classic Jiangnan places. West Lake at Hangzhou with a boat on the water and Leifeng Pagoda across it, then Shanghai for Nanjing Road and the Bund.

Airfare – This package does not include your flights. Book your own, then tell us your arrival and departure times so we can set your transfers and your tour around them.
Hotel – Rooms are twin sharing. Standard check-in is 2PM and check out is 12NN unless the itinerary says otherwise. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and fees. Children are arranged in the same room as their parents. If an extra room is needed, or for special requests, additional costs will apply.

Not compulsory in the way our cheaper China tours are, but there are three stops that function as shopping halts: the Meijiawu Tea Garden, a health and wellness centre, and the Shanghai Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre, which is a jade showroom. You are free to buy nothing. We list them so you know where Days 5 and 6 go.

This package is priced by age band rather than adult and child. Ages 1 to 18 are quoted at USD 729 per person, which is higher than the USD 699 for adults 19 and over. That is what the supplier quotes and we are confirming it, so ask us before you book for a family.
A good amount. This tour covers Zhejiang and Jiangxi as well as Shanghai, and Days 2, 3 and 4 all involve long road legs between provinces. The coach is private and the hotels are 5 star at the end of each leg, but it is a moving tour rather than a base and day trip one.
