Day 1, Manila to Hohhot via Guangzhou

CZ3092 leaves Manila at noon and lands in Guangzhou at 2:40. CZ3181 goes on at 8:20 in the evening and lands in Hohhot at 11:35 at night. Your guide meets you at the airport and the bus takes you to the hotel. It is a long travel day and no meals are included.

Day 2, Hohhot to Ordos

Breakfast and check out. The Zhaojun Museum first, built around the tomb of the Han dynasty princess sent north to marry a Xiongnu chief. It closes on Tuesdays, and where that lands on your date the guide reorders the day. Then Hasuhai wetland park with the admission included. The nomadic costume experience is available here as a paid extra. Then the drive south to Ordos and the hotel. Lunch and dinner both included.

Day 3, Xiangshawan

Breakfast at the hotel. First a paper cutting session with an intangible cultural heritage practitioner, which is more absorbing than it sounds. Then Xiangshawan, the singing sand dunes, with the admission and the cable car in your price. The desert entertainment rides are not, and they are available as a paid package. The camel banquet is the other optional today. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 4, the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan, then back to Hohhot

Breakfast and check out. The Mausoleum of Genghis Khan, with the ticket and the blessing and worship ceremony included, which is the centrepiece of the trip. Then the drive back north to Hohhot and Mengliang Folkland. Check in at the hotel. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 5, Hohhot

Breakfast at the hotel. The Shiyuan General Government Office, the Qing dynasty military governor’s compound, which closes on Mondays. If your Day 5 is a Monday the guide substitutes Genghis Khan Square. Then the Inner Mongolia Museum. Dazhao Temple is available as a paid extra. Back to the hotel. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 6, Hohhot to Manila

Breakfast and check out, then the airport. CZ3182 leaves Hohhot at 7:20 or 8:00 in the morning for Guangzhou, and CZ397 leaves at 2:15 in the afternoon and lands in Manila at 4:50. Breakfast is the only meal included.

FAQ

What does it cost?

All three departures are the same, ₱64,935 per person on twin sharing, which is USD 999. The dates are 23 to 28 March, 24 to 29 March and 25 to 30 March 2027.

Is there actually ice and snow?

The supplier calls this the Ice and Snow tour, but all three departures are in late March and the itinerary is desert, grassland and museums. There are no ice or snow activities on the programme. Book it for Xiangshawan and the Genghis Khan Mausoleum, not for winter scenery.

What is included at Xiangshawan?

The admission ticket and the cable car across to the dunes. The sand boarding, buggies, zip lines and the rest are the desert entertainment package, which is not included. You can buy it on the day or take it as part of the USD 120 optional bundle.

Do I need a visa for China?

Yes, and we handle it. You travel on a China group visa, which costs USD 40 per person, about ₱2,600, collected with your tour fee. It is a group document, so you enter and leave China together with the group.

Is this a shopping tour?

No. JSC sells it as a no shopping package with 5 star hotels and a group visa. There are no jade, silk or medicine stops in the six days.

Two sites close on certain weekdays. Does that affect my date?

It can. The Zhaojun Museum shuts on Tuesdays and the Shiyuan General Government Office shuts on Mondays. On the 25 March departure, Day 5 falls on a Monday, so the government office is replaced by Genghis Khan Square. If a specific site is the reason you are going, tell us and we will check your date against it.

How many meals do I get?

Five breakfasts, four lunches and four dinners. You pay only for dinner on the first night and lunch on the last day, which given how far apart things are out there is worth something.

How much for children?

A child from 2 to 6 years old without their own bed is USD 50 less than the adult, about ₱3,250 off. From 6 years old local rules require their own bed and they pay the adult rate. Tell us the ages when you book.

What do I pay to hold my seat?

A deposit of USD 400 per person, about ₱26,000, within three days of confirming. It is non refundable and it cannot be transferred to another departure. The rest is due one month before you travel.
