0
  • Duration: 5 Days 4 Nights
  • Airfare included, Air China in and out of Chongqing
  • Two hours skiing at Zhegu Mountain, skis and poles included
  • Three mandatory shopping stops, 90 minutes each

Detail

PHP 31,135 per person, which is USD 479 at the rate we use, for five days through Dujiangyan, Chengdu and Chongqing with the airfare in the price and two hours on the snow at Zhegu Mountain.

You fly into Chongqing, drive straight out to Dujiangyan for the Panda Park, then spend Day 2 at Zhegu Mountain Ski Resort. The skiing is a genuine inclusion, not an optional: skis and poles are provided and the two hours are built into the day. Days 3 and 4 are city time in Chengdu and Chongqing, finishing with Hongya Cave lit up at night and Ciqikou Ancient Town on the last morning.

If you want the same two cities without the snow and with 5 star hotels, we also run a Chongqing and Chengdu 5 day tour built around the Dujiangyan Panda Park. This one is the winter version.

Price Includes

  • Air China round trip airfare, airport tax and terminal fee
  • 23kg checked baggage plus 5kg hand carry
  • 4 nights 4 star hotel with daily breakfast, twin sharing
  • Private coach with an English speaking guide
  • All entrance fees listed in the itinerary
  • Two hours skiing at Zhegu Mountain with skis and poles
  • Panda Park with the battery shuttle bus
  • One bottle of water per person per day

  • Philippine travel tax, USD 30
  • Tips for the driver and guide, USD 50
  • Travel insurance
  • Ski clothing and locker rental at the resort

  • Personal expenses such as phone calls and the minibar

What You Also Pay

The rate above covers what is listed under Price Includes. These are the costs that land on top of it. We would rather you saw the real number now than found it later.

  • This is a mandatory shopping tour. Three stops are in the itinerary, each requiring at least 90 minutes: a traditional Chinese medicine shop and a jade shop on Day 3, and a latex shop on Day 4. If the group does not complete all of them for the full time, the operator adds USD 300 per person, which is the steepest skip charge of any tour we sell.
  • Ski gear beyond the skis and poles is rented on the spot in renminbi. A helmet is RMB 10, goggles RMB 10, gloves RMB 10, a locker RMB 20, a full ski suit RMB 50 and a jacket on its own RMB 30, each per use. Budget roughly RMB 100, about PHP 800, if you arrive with nothing.
  • China group visa, USD 40 per person, collected with the tour fee.
  • Philippine travel tax, USD 30 per person, collected with the tour fee.
  • Tips for the driver and guide, USD 50 per person, collected with the tour fee. That is USD 10 a day.
  • Single supplement, USD 140, if you want the room to yourself.
  • Children aged 6 and over must have their own bed and pay the full adult rate. Only children aged 2 to 5 travelling without a bed get the lower USD 459 rate.
  • Four optional tours: Dream Back to Qingcheng, the Apsaras show, at USD 45 and it must be confirmed three days before departure with no changes on the day; the Sichuan double flavour hot pot dinner at USD 40; the Sichuan opera face changing show at USD 40; and the Two Rivers cruise with Nanbin Road at USD 40.
  • Dinner on Day 4 at Bayi Food Street is at your own expense.
  • A non refundable deposit of USD 200 per person is due within three days of confirming your seat. The balance is due one month before departure.

FAQ

Is the skiing actually included?

Yes. Two hours on the slopes at Zhegu Mountain with skis and poles provided, built into Day 2. What is not included is the clothing and safety gear, which you rent at the resort for roughly RMB 100 all in, about PHP 800.

Do I need to know how to ski?

No. Two hours is a taster, not a lesson course, and most of the group will be first timers. Zhegu Mountain has beginner slopes. If you have never skied, plan to spend the time learning to stand up rather than covering ground.

How much shopping is built in?

Three stops at a minimum of 90 minutes each, so four and a half hours: a Chinese medicine shop and a jade shop on Day 3, and a latex shop on Day 4. The skip charge on this tour is USD 300 per person, which is high, so treat the stops as compulsory.

How is this different from your other Chongqing and Chengdu 5 day tour?

This one has the skiing at Zhegu Mountain and 4 star hotels. The other is built around the Dujiangyan Panda Park with 5 star hotels and no snow. Same two cities, different winter.

What do I pay on top of the PHP 31,135?

USD 40 group visa, USD 30 Philippine travel tax and USD 50 tips, all collected with your tour fee, so USD 120 or about PHP 7,800. Then ski gear rental on the day, your Day 4 dinner, and the single supplement of USD 140 only if you want your own room.

Is the Day 1 flight really at 2:25am?

Yes. CA482 leaves Manila at 02:25 and lands in Chongqing at 06:20, and you then have a four hour drive to Dujiangyan before the first sightseeing stop. Day 1 is long. The return flight is kinder, leaving Chongqing at 21:30.

Does it leave from Chongqing or Chengdu?

Chongqing both ways. The coach handles the moves between Chongqing, Dujiangyan and Chengdu, which is why Days 1 and 4 have long drives.
