Itinerary

Day 1, Manila to Kashgar via Guangzhou

CZ3092 leaves Manila at noon and lands in Guangzhou at 2:40. CZ6836 goes on at 5:10 in the afternoon and lands in Kashgar at 11:55 at night. Your guide meets you and takes you to the hotel. No meals are included today.

Day 2, onto the Pamir Plateau

Breakfast and check out, then about three hours and 180 kilometres up to Tashkurgan. White Sand Lake on the way, at 3,300 metres, a glacier fed lake with no inflow or outflow that holds its level all year from underground springs, ringed by white mica sand hills. Then Karakul Lake at 3,660 metres, the black lake in Tajik, under Muztagh Ata and Kongur Tagh. Both tickets included. Night at Tashkurgan. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 3, the apricot valley

Breakfast, then a full day at Kukesiruk, the apricot village eighty kilometres down the Tashkurgan valley. More than a hundred thousand wild apricot trees grow there, many of them between one and four hundred years old, and in late March the blossom runs pink and white for tens of kilometres along the canyon. That is why these departures are in March. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 4, the Panlong Ancient Road and Bandir Blue Lake

Breakfast, then half an hour to the Panlong Ancient Road, the switchback that looks from the air like a black dragon across the Kunlun ridges. You transfer into four seven seat vehicles for the hour on the road itself. Then Bandir Blue Lake, fed by glacial meltwater and shifting from Tiffany blue at noon to peacock and turquoise at sunset. Back to Tashkurgan for the Stone City and the Golden Grass Beach, the best preserved ancient city ruin in Xinjiang. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 5, Muji Volcano, then back to Kashgar

Breakfast and check out, then about three and a half hours to Muji Volcano at 3,800 metres, the cold mud volcano field they call the Eye of the Pamirs, with more than sixty cones and thirteen well preserved craters. Then five hours down to Kashgar. Your border defence permit is arranged on the way, which Muji requires. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 6, Yarkand and the Twelve Muqam

Breakfast, then three hours to Yarkand. The Amannisa Khan mausoleum, built in 1992 for the sixteenth century Uyghur poet and musician who collected and codified the Twelve Muqam. Then a Twelve Muqam performance, which is UNESCO listed and in full would run twenty four hours, so you get a part of it. Back to Kashgar. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 7, Kashgar old city

Breakfast. The Kashgar Ancient City opening ceremony, then the old city itself, the largest adobe residential complex in China with tens of thousands of people still living in it. The Id Kah Mosque, built in 1442 and the largest in the country. Then the Xiangfei tomb, the Afaq Khoja family mausoleum five kilometres out of town. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 8, Kashgar to Manila

Breakfast and check out, then the airport. CZ6835 leaves Kashgar at 9:55 in the morning for Guangzhou and CZ3077 at 8:00 in the evening, landing in Manila at 10:30. Breakfast is the only meal included.

FAQ

What does my date cost?

12 to 19 March and 15 to 22 March 2027 are ₱136,435 per person on twin sharing, which is USD 2,099. 24 to 31 March 2027 is ₱142,935, or USD 2,199. Choose your dates in the booking box and the price follows.

How high do we go, and should I worry?

Most of Days 2 to 5 sits above 3,000 metres. Karakul Lake is 3,660 and Muji Volcano is 3,800. Altitude sickness is a genuine risk at those heights, especially as you go up fast from Kashgar on Day 2. If you have heart trouble, lung trouble, uncontrolled blood pressure or are pregnant, talk to your doctor before booking. Everyone should drink more water than feels necessary and take the first two days gently.

Why are all the departures in March?

The apricot blossom. Day 3 is a full day at Kukesiruk in the Tashkurgan valley, where more than a hundred thousand wild apricot trees flower along the canyon in late March. Outside that window it is a different and much plainer valley.

What is the border defence permit?

A separate permit required to enter the Muji area, which sits right on China’s western border. It is arranged for you on Day 5 and there is nothing for you to do but hand over your passport when asked. Your name has to match your passport exactly on the booking, so check it when you book.

Is this a shopping tour?

No. JSC sells it as a non shopping package with 5 star hotels and a group visa. There are no compulsory stores anywhere in the eight days.

Do I need a visa for China?

Yes, and we handle it. You travel on a China group visa, which costs USD 40 per person, about ₱2,600, collected with your tour fee. It is a group document, so you enter and leave China together with the group.

How many meals do I get?

Seven hotel breakfasts, six lunches and six dinners. You pay only for your first day, when you land close to midnight anyway.

How much for children?

A child from 2 to 6 years old without their own bed is USD 100 less than the adult, about ₱6,500 off. From 6 years old local rules require their own bed and they pay the adult rate. The altitude makes this a hard trip for small children, so think about it carefully.

What do I pay to hold my seat?

A deposit of USD 500 per person, about ₱32,500, within three days of confirming. It is non refundable and it cannot be transferred to another departure. The rest is due one month before you travel.
