Tokyo and Hokkaido 5 Days 4 Nights with JAL, Shibuya, Otaru and Lake Toya

0
  • 5 days and 4 nights
  • Japan Airlines via Tokyo Haneda
  • A day in Tokyo on the way in
  • 23kg in two pieces plus 10kg hand carry
  • 4 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 3 dinners
  • Shabu shabu with crab legs, and an onsen buffet

Detail

Two trips in one. You land at Haneda at half past four in the morning and instead of sitting in the airport you go straight into Tokyo. Asakusa Temple and the Skytree, Shibuya Crossing and the Hachiko statue, Harajuku and Omotesando. Then back to Haneda in the evening and up to Sapporo, where the rest of the week is Hokkaido in winter.

Otaru with its canal and glassworks, Shiroi Koibito Park, Noboribetsu Hell Valley, the bear ranch at Showa Shinzan, a night at the onsen hotel on Lake Toya, Niseko, and on the last day the Shikotsu ice festival before the evening flight out.

Baggage is generous here, 23kg in two pieces plus 10kg hand carry, and you eat well: shabu shabu with crab legs on the second night and the onsen buffet on the third.

Two departures at the same price, ₱142,220 per person, which is USD 2,188. Both start with a late night flight out of Manila, so read the timings before you book leave.

What You Also Pay

The rate above covers what is listed under Price Includes. These are the costs that land on top of it. We would rather you saw the real number now than found it later.

  • Philippine travel tax, ₱1,950 per person, which is USD 30. We collect this together with your tour fee.
  • Tips for the driver and guide, ₱1,625 per person, which is USD 25. That is USD 5 a day for five days, also collected with your tour fee.
  • Single supplement, ₱26,000 per person, which is USD 400, if you do not want to share a room.
  • Your Japan visa. Philippine passport holders need one and this tour does not include it. You apply through an accredited agency and the fee is yours.
  • Travel insurance, which is not included on this tour.
  • Niseko on Day 4 is the visit, not the skiing. Ski hire, lift passes and lunch up there are all on you.
  • Lunch on Day 1, Day 4 and Day 5. Day 1 in Tokyo has no included meals at all, so plan to eat on the move.
  • A deposit of ₱32,500 per person, which is USD 500, due within three days of confirming your seat. It is non refundable and it cannot be moved to another date. The balance is due one month before you fly.
  • A fuel surcharge, if the airline imposes one before departure. This can happen without notice.

Itinerary

Day 1, Manila to Tokyo for the day, then on to Sapporo

JL078 leaves Manila at 11:30 at night and lands at Haneda at 4:25 in the morning. Your guide meets you there and the day is Tokyo. Photo stops at Asakusa Temple and the Skytree, then Shibuya Crossing and the Hachiko statue, then Harajuku and Omotesando. Back to Haneda in the evening for JL529, which leaves at 7:45 and lands at New Chitose at 9:20. Hotel in Sapporo. No meals are included today.

Day 2, Otaru and Sapporo

Day 3, Noboribetsu and Lake Toya

FAQ

What does it cost?

Both departures are ₱142,220 per person on twin sharing, which is USD 2,188. The dates are 30 January to 3 February 2027 and 2 to 6 February 2027.

When does the plane actually leave?

At 11:30 at night on the day before your tour date. For the 30 January departure that means leaving Manila on the 29th. You land at Haneda at 4:25am on the 30th and Day 1 starts there. Coming home you leave Sapporo at 9:15pm on the last day and land in Manila at 5:45am the following morning. Book your leave around the real dates, not the ones on the flyer.

How is this different from the other Hokkaido tours?

This one gives you a full day in Tokyo on the way in, which neither of the others does. Against that, Day 1 has no meals and a lot of walking on no sleep. The Philippine Airlines Hokkaido tour is cheaper and flies direct. The JAL Hokkaido tour costs the same as this one but spends the extra time in Hokkaido instead of Tokyo.

Is checked baggage included?

Yes. Two pieces at 23kg plus 10kg hand carry.

Do I need a visa for Japan?

Yes. Philippine passport holders need a Japanese visa and this tour does not include it. You apply through an accredited travel agency, not directly at the embassy, and the fee and paperwork are yours. Start early, because processing takes weeks and approval is never guaranteed.

How many meals do I get?

Four hotel breakfasts, two lunches and three dinners. Day 1 in Tokyo has nothing included, and lunch on Day 4 and Day 5 is yours. The three dinners are shabu shabu with crab legs, the onsen buffet, and one more.

Can I ski at Niseko?

Only at your own cost and not for a full day. Day 4 includes the visit. Lift passes, ski hire and lunch up the mountain are excluded.

How much for children?

A child from 2 to 6 years old without their own bed is USD 100 less than the adult, about ₱6,500 off. From 6 years old Japanese rules require their own bed and they pay the adult rate. Tell us the ages when you book.

Can I have a room to myself?

Yes, for a single supplement of ₱26,000, which is USD 400. Without it you are in a twin room with another traveller. Triple rooms are limited, and where one is not available we put two of you in a twin and one in a single, with the single supplement applying to that person.
