Zhangjiajie, Fenghuang and Chongqing 8 Days 7 Nights with Airfare and the Bullet Train

0
  • Duration: 8 Days 7 Nights
  • Airfare and the bullet train included
  • Three destinations: Fenghuang, Zhangjiajie and Chongqing
  • Four mandatory shopping stops, 90 minutes each

Detail

From PHP 51,935 per person, which is USD 799 at the rate we use, for eight days across Fenghuang Ancient Town, Zhangjiajie and Chongqing. Airfare is included and so is the bullet train that moves you from Hunan to Chongqing on Day 5.

This is the long version, and it is the only one of our Zhangjiajie tours that includes Fenghuang. You spend a full day and a night in the ancient town on the Tuojiang River, with the stilt houses and the Hongqiao bridge lit up after dark, before three days on the Avatar mountains. Then the bullet train to Chongqing for Liziba Station, the Eighteen Ladders, Hongya Cave, the panda house and Ciqikou. Seven nights, 5 star hotels for the first four, and 19 meals.

Two things to settle before you book. This is a mandatory shopping tour with four stops at 90 minutes each, and skipping them costs USD 250 per person. And Tianmen Mountain is not included; it is an USD 80 optional on Day 3.

Price Includes

  • China Southern round trip airfare, airport tax and terminal fee
  • 23kg checked baggage plus 5kg hand carry
  • Zhangjiajie to Chongqing bullet train, second class seat
  • 7 nights hotel with daily breakfast, twin sharing, no extra bed
  • Private coach with one English speaking guide throughout
  • All entrance fees listed in the itinerary, including the Bailong sky lift
  • Fenghuang Ancient Town with the shuttle bus
  • One bottle of water per person per day
  • 7 breakfasts, 6 lunches and 6 dinners, including a Chongqing hot pot dinner

Price Excludes

  • Single supplement, USD 200
  • China group visa, USD 40
  • Philippine travel tax, USD 30
  • Tips for the driver and guide, USD 80
  • Travel insurance
  • The three optional tours, including Tianmen Mountain
  • Personal expenses such as phone calls and the minibar

What You Also Pay

The rate above covers what is listed under Price Includes. These are the costs that land on top of it. We would rather you saw the real number now than found it later.

  • This is a mandatory shopping tour. Four stops are in the itinerary, each requiring at least 90 minutes: a Chinese medicine store on Day 3, a tea house on Day 4, a jewellery store on Day 5 and a latex store on Day 6. If the group does not complete all four for the full time, the operator adds USD 250 per person. That is six hours of your eight days.
  • Tianmen Mountain is not in the price. The cable car, the eco vehicle, the skywalk glass bridge and Tianmen Cave are an USD 80 optional on Day 3.
  • China group visa, USD 40 per person, collected with the tour fee.
  • Philippine travel tax, USD 30 per person, collected with the tour fee.
  • Tips for the driver and guide, USD 80 per person, collected with the tour fee. That is USD 10 a day over eight days and it is the highest tip figure on our China list.
  • Single supplement, USD 200, if you want the room to yourself. Rooms are twin sharing with no extra bed, so a third person needs a second room.
  • Children aged 6 and over must have their own bed and pay the full adult rate. Children aged 2 to 6 without a bed pay USD 750 on the January and February departures and USD 850 on the New Year and late March ones.
  • Two more optionals: the Tianmen Fox Fairy show upgraded to a wild mushroom banquet at USD 65 on Day 4, and the Baofeng Lake cruise with Xibu Street at USD 65 on Day 5.
  • Your own dinner on Day 1. You land in Changsha in the evening and that meal is not included.
  • A non refundable deposit of USD 400 per person is due within three days of confirming your seat, double the usual, because the tour is eight days. The balance is due one month before departure.

FAQ

Is Tianmen Mountain included?

No. Tianmen Mountain, with the cable car, the skywalk glass bridge and Tianmen Cave, is an USD 80 per person optional on Day 3. The Avatar mountains at Yuanjiajie and the Bailong sky lift on Day 4 are included. They are two different mountains and people often assume one package covers both.

How much shopping is built in?

Four stops at a minimum of 90 minutes each, so six hours spread across Days 3 to 6. A Chinese medicine store, a tea house, a jewellery store and a latex store. If the group skips any of them or leaves early, the operator charges USD 250 per person.

Is the bullet train included?

Yes, Zhangjiajie to Chongqing in a second class seat on Day 5, about two and a half hours. The reference service is G2440 at 19:47, arriving 22:23, so Day 5 ends late.

Why is this better value than two separate tours?

Because the single eight day trip covers Fenghuang, Zhangjiajie and Chongqing on one airfare and one visa. Booking our Zhangjiajie 5 day and a Chongqing tour separately means two sets of flights, two visas and two lots of travel tax and tips.

What do I pay on top of the headline price?

USD 40 group visa, USD 30 Philippine travel tax and USD 80 tips, all collected with your tour fee, so USD 150 or about PHP 9,750. Then your Day 1 dinner, and the single supplement of USD 200 only if you want your own room.

Can three of us share a room?

No. The operator quotes twin sharing with no extra bed on this tour. A third person needs a second room, which means one of you pays the USD 200 single supplement.

Which flight do I get?

The operator lists two routings for each direction and assigns them by season, so your voucher will carry the confirmed one. The early option gets you into Changsha at 16:25 and the late option at 00:20. Both are via Guangzhou.
